Our Tokyo office's clients include numerous multinational companies and financial institutions and our representations include general corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, banking, all aspects of corporate finance, capital markets, project finance, aircraft finance and structured finance, intellectual property, telecommunications, antitrust and trade regulation, securities litigation, arbitration and other matters.
At the 2006 Asian Legal Business "Japan Deals of the Year Award" ceremony, Latham & Watkins received the award for the "IT /Telecommunications Deal of the Year" for our work in representing Jupiter Telecommunications Co Ltd., Japan's largest cable television network operator, on its ¥104.7 billion IPO. This was one of the largest IPOs in Japan in nearly two years.
Latham & Watkins also received the 2006 Airfinance Journal "Asia Pacific Deal of the Year" and Jane's Transport Finance "Aircraft Leasing Deal of the Year - Australasia" in the prestigious annual awards.
